Hi Everyone, this is my home built tube stereo amplifier. I used the Pilot SA 232 schematic and built it on a metal base along with the Pilot SA 260 Pre-Amp. The output trannies are from a Baldwin tube amp and the power tranny from a Hammond tube amp. All parts are either NOS or used. I painted metal base, all point to point soldering. Took me the better part of three months with all found tube amp parts. As you can see, the pre-amp has a treble and bass along with a a gain control for each channel. In addition, I did some mods, I lowered the first filter cap to 20uf to allow me the use of older rectifier tubes, and upgraded the second filter cap to 420uf. NO hum no buzz, resistors most are metal film with some old NOS carbons. The speakers, Sony 6" cheapo from the Goodwill. How does it sound? one word Amazing and 3-D with clear detail to musical instruments. Over all this is the perfect tube amplifier for vocals, instruments and mid to high frequency type audio, but it also had a deep but not boomy bass.
