Welcome to Part 2 of the David Swartz Concert Poster Auction. Join Director of Concert Posters Pete Howard and Director of Music Garry Shrum for a lengthly discussion on this amazing collection. We had a glorious debut back in May with Part 1 of the Swartz Collection, culminating with a world record for the highest price ever paid for a psychedelic concert poster… $175,000 for the BG-105 Jimi Hendrix “Flying Eyeball” concert poster signed by artist Rick Griffin and graded 9.8 Near Mint/Mint. That blew everyone’s socks off, and the hobby was glowing for weeks afterwards. We return now in November with over 100 more of David’s best items, leaning toward high-graded psychedelic posters that so many of us love. David returns to this auction with three towering giants in the Bill Graham and Family Dog world. We have the now world-famous FD-26 Grateful Dead Skeleton & Roses poster in a wonderful, rare 9.8 grade, which is sure to create lots of action. There's also a 9.6 Hendrix flying eyeball, again signed by Rick Griffin, only one step down from last auction’s world record-setter. Third, an FD-1 “A Tribal Stomp” Jefferson Airplane concert poster, a highly coveted and super-rare piece in first printing. That’s graded 8.0 Very Fine, which is still a huge grade for that piece which is never found without significant wear and tear.
