This boat was special ordered from Clackacraft with custom colors and options for fishing in the Olympic Peninsula rainforest. Fly fishing guide Lael Johnson added a few extra options not available from the factory to ensure that all comfort & safety needs are met. This boat has it all! Our vessel is equipped with flat-level floors, carpet for icy mornings, and front and rear casting stands for added stability when presenting your fly to Salmon, Steelhead, or Trout. We do so by practicing the leave no trace principles upon our entry & exit of our destination. We do our part and also help where others may have missed their mark. To assist with this, there is a Yeti Loadout 5-Gallon Bucket onboard to ensure trash leaves the riverbanks. Tool storage is a must for any boat, no matter the technique utilized when searching for fish. This is where the Yeti Loadout 5-Gallon Bucket shines again. It features a Utility Gear Belt that gives us easy access to our knives, pliers, and other tools. The bucket is also fully removable during the occasion we need our river toolbox in another location away from the boat. Located under our rower’s seat is our power unit, wiring, and charging accessories. All power to electronics can be shut off with a simple switch while charging or in case of emergency. Sitting Pretty The Clackacraft Big Eddy hull design is similar in size to our previous 2017 Weight Forward model drift boat but with a lot more room inside for our anglers. Because of the new floor plan and added space, the bottom displaces more water and enables the boat to ride higher in the water column. This allows for a smoother ride and less contact with the river bottom when passing through the shallows during summer steelhead fishing and low flows. Any Weather, Any Time Of Day Fly fishing in the Olympic Peninsula Rainforest for Salmon & Steelhead; we get our fair share of rain. It’s not a constant, but when mother nature turns it on, it POURS! No one enjoys bailing out a boat when flies should be in the water and just for that reason, we installed a heavy-duty bilge pump. Early mornings for the first light or late evenings for the last strike, our Clackacraft is equipped for any situation. Bow, Stern, Port & Starboard Blue LED lights were added after our pickup from the factory, allowing us to stay out a little longer when the natural lights are going out. For safely navigating down the river to be first to the fish or the last man out, we installed a bow-mounted 3500-lumen spotlight. It is easily turned on and off by the boat operator reaching the switch panel located on the port side of the rower’s seat. It is completely out of the direct view of the operator and guests to ensure the bright lights only reach the water and not the eyes. A Seat In Our Boat Is Waiting For You!
