Dr. Kathy Winings is the President of the Board of Directors for the International Relief Friendship Foundation, Inc., an international disaster and sustainable development agency, after having served as its executive director for over fifteen years. She is also the Conference Chair for the International Association of Near Death Studies (IANDS) where she is responsible for the development, organization and coordination of the annual conference. She has served in numerous senior administrative positions in higher education and is a Professor Emeritus of Religious Education and Restorative Justice Ministry. She received her doctorate from Teacher’s College, Columbia University. In January 2021, Kathy had a life-changing near-death experience after suffering a ruptured cerebral aneurysm. After a month in the ICU in which she was in and out of consciousness, while transferring to a residential rehab program, she crossed over into the spiritual realm in the process of experiencing a medical crisis. While in the spiritual realm, she was ultimately told that it was not her time and that she still had important work to do, so she had to go back. On returning to the ICU unit for another three weeks, God spoke to her – a message that was the start of ongoing guidance for her life that continues to this day. In that initial conversation, God made it clear that she had been saved by God’s deep love flowing in her veins. Since that time, she has received ongoing guidance on how to integrate that love throughout her life – in her thoughts, words and deeds – and allowing herself to be transformed by it.
