The Lichttoren, a beacon of indestructible concrete and iconic Eindhoven industrial heritage. Music, light and shadow build a magical illusion together here that reflects this heritage. During the light event GLOW 2018, the tower shines again with projection mapping, even more then it ever did. The Lichttoren is a building in the city center of the Dutch city of Eindhoven. It is a heptagonal, white tower designed in the functionalist style. The factories of Philips Lighting have been built on the Lichttoren. These were built in parts between 1909 and 1921. In the years 1909 - 1911 the western L-shaped part of the current Lichttoren complex is being built. From 1911 the Light Tower was used as a factory. In the period 1919 - 1921 the factory along the track is extended, with a turn to the current Emmasingel. Later, the head office of the Philips light division is located in the building. The building code, as used by Philips, was ED for the eastern part (including the actual Lichttoren) and EC for the western part. The building is a national monument. Nowadays the whole building, after the tower, is called the Light Tower. It has been converted into a residential, work and leisure complex.
