Fakistra Beach is located on the Aegean Sea, on the east coast of the Pelion peninsula in the Thessaly region of Greece, between the beaches of Damouchari (or Ntamouchari) and Mylopotamos. It is located 50 km (about 1 hour and 30 minutes by car) from Volos, the main city in the area, and 5 km (11 minutes by car) from Tsagkarada, the nearest town. Fakistra Beach can be reached either by boat, by sea, or by car, there being a paved road up to about 200 m from it, where it ends in a small parking lot. From here, you continue on foot, descending a path with some fairly steep sections, the hike taking 10 - 15 minutes. Fakistra is a wild, unorganized, very picturesque beach, located in a small bay surrounded by impressive cliffs and characterized by clear, saturated blue-green waters. Here there is also the Fakistra waterfall, with an impressive height, with water coming from the gorge of the same name, which starts a little below Tsagkarada and ends at the beach. It is composed of coarse sand, mixed with pebbles. The entrance to the water is quite steep, the seabed being quite rocky around the shore, in windy weather and waves the boulders in the water cannot be seen, which requires special attention when bathing. There are no tourist facilities on Fakistra beach, but two nearby attractions can be visited, namely the Hidden School and the Panagia Megalomata Church caves.
