There were more than a dozen locks along the canal, along with millraces and hydraulic tunnels powering the various industries. The Towpath Trail roughly follows the original route of the Ohio and Erie Canal. There is a rich history in this area, and several informational plaques along the walk for interpretation. The trail is a multi-use trail, open to both pedestrians and bikers.
