(Music starts at 1:57) Lucki is back with his second album this year and although there aren't necessarily any new or surprising elements surrounding this project, Lucki comes through with a great album again nonetheless. Thematically, Lucki sticks to the same subjects we know him for. Topics surrounding drug abuse, relationship problems, trust issues and dealing with fame are what this album mostly consists of. The production adds to the theme of using drugs to cope with issues as the instrumentals induce almost a body high by how atmospheric, futuristic and light they sound. Other than the topics surrounding using unhealthy ways to cope with problems usually stemming from women, there really isn't an exact theme in this album. Lyrically, Lucki does an excellent job in writing lyrics that are so authentic, and blunt that they make you feel like you're having a close conversation with a friend. Lucki expounds on drug addiction and dating issues in a way that makes you feel like you've lived through his raps. Not only does Lucki do a great job in writing relatable, and detailed lyrics but he continually inserts these catchy melodies and flows in his lyrics that perfectly match up with the production. His nonchalant and soft-spoken delivery further helps with his drug abuse narrative as it sounds like he's under the influence while he's recording. Sonically, this album creates an ethereal, light, and atmospheric setting that works hand in hand with Lucki's lyrics and vocal performance. Most of the beats on here sound very reminiscent of Pierre Bourne's work. While the drums are very trap influenced, the melodies are what consistently catch my attention. They're usually in a high pitch and buoyant which really creates this futuristic sound that embodies a place that is best described as outer space star-gazing. All in all, this is a great album that has been on repeat ever since it came out. In my opinion this is Lucki's most consistent piece of work. Thanks for watching and reading!
