Ground service: depends on where you are, at RUH nothing special was offered and the joint lounge was poor. More on almourjan Lounge at DOH    • Qatar Airways| Almourjan Lounge | Hamad In...   At HND Japan Airlines staff (that operate QR flights) are excellent and genuinely helpful and polite (as expected of the Japanese people). check out my video on the Sakura Lounge at HND    • Japan Airlines | Sakura Lounge | Haneda In...   Business Class Cabin : on the 787 very comfortable and unique with QR doing a g reat job making it the most attractive and modern looking of any other current 787 operator in my opinion. The bar is simple but nicely appointed and good place to stretch out (it is important to realize that the 787 fuselage is much smaller than the 777 and by that having a bar is commendable). on the 777 the cabin is more traditional but spacious and well appointed but there is no bar. (note that on regional routes QR markets their business class as first class with fares of business class). Seats: on the 787 their signature seats (now available on the 787, A350 and A380) are very attractive, comfortable with ample space and good privacy despite being more open in design which gives a nice airy feel and direct aisle acces. The auto LED lighting always made the cabin more cozy and relaxing. On the 777 the seats are comfortable and have excellent message function that you really feel, there is no obstruction of your feet when sleeping and the pitch is excellent, but of course if you are in window seat you don't have direct aisle access. IFE: on the 787 the controller is excellent and responsive having an android device in your hand and in effect another handheld screen with functions including window dimmer display which is a nice touch. The selection is vast and you are very unlikely to be bored however I have personally experienced better IFE with even more selection. On the 777 the flight was short and I didn't get a chance to browse a lot but the same is expected, the controller is traditional and yet still has more on it's small screen than in other airlines. The noise cancelling headphones were excellent. Amenity Kit: has the usual contents but the small GIO cologne was a great addition, I would have hoped for a better more unique looking bag, perhaps a hard case container or something more QR branded. Not many airlines offer PJ's but QR does and they fit well, look presentable and are comfortable. In flight service: The flight attendants are nicely groomed and are trained to make you feel welcomed and pampered. Of course personal touches and articulation varies from flight attendant to another (which can and does make a big difference) and the best was on the Riyadh to Doha flight, but I don't have any complaints on any other of the flights. Was disappointed that there was no Arabic announcements on the DOH-HND-DOH flights, after all QR is still an Arab airline. Food and Drink: Expect to be well fed and pleased in terms of quality, variety and presentation, however it must be said that fillet of beef on two separate flights were overcooked and breakfast sausages were supermarket quality. The Japanese meals were outstanding. The on demand menu is excellent and flight attendants are happy to provide seconds and snacks along the way. On the short RUH-DOH-RUH flights it is admirable to see a meal service which is light yet filling with service being un-rushed despite being a very short flight. VERDICT Excellent experience and standard achieved. Would fly with them again and would recommend them (didn't fly with them economy class). Would also advise to make an effort to visit Hamad International. Need to improve beef quality and amenity kits. Thanks for watching, thumbs up and commenting.
