The is an update on my journey playing direct to the mixer (PA), using DSM Humboldt Simplifier DLX. After playing more shows, I ran into some easily fixed issues. That said, the sound is great and moves nicely between venues. 1. The power supply I was using was under powering my pedals causing some weird 'brown out' type issues. After replacing the power supply, no issues. 2. The knobs on the DLX are great under the right conditions, however playing in low light and worse, bright stage light, I found I was not able to see where the knobs were pointed. I replaced the level and gain knobs with high visibility knobs. 3. The tuner was small and light, but in the end didn't allow accurate enough tuning for me. I ended up putting my old Korg DT-10 back on. 4. The default A/B sounds were not enough for my purpose and I added a Boss blues driver for a third sound. It bridged the gap I was looking for. The journey continues and I'll keep updating as I find things, good or bad.
