Here is a dog coat sewing tutorial showing how I modified the pattern of an old dog coat to make it fit my dog better. I use bias tape to finish the edge quickly. The material needed: fleece fabric 1/4" double fold bias tape: 4 yards paper to draft your pattern sewing machine and supplies Velcro tape for enclosure My dog is about 11-pound Pomeranian mixed breed. Every dog has different size and shape, and that is why it is a good DIY project for a custom fit. You can use a thin paper or fabric to fit on your dog and make adjustment accordingly. It is a simple one-piece dog coat with velcro tape below the chest. I use a thicker fleece with bias tape to finish the raw edges. You can also sew 2 layers of fabrics together and enclose the raw edges.
