This location initially opened as the first purely alternative medicine hospital for mental disorders. This ideology was built upon the idea that mental illness stemmed from bodily disease, and because of this they utilized a variety of new techniques for treating mental disorders. More well known techniques across asylums, like hydrotherapy and electroshock therapy, were also utilized. Today, many of the buildings that one spanned across this campus have been demolished, lost due to fires, or repurposed for modern use.
