Hey everyone! Welcome back to my channel. This week we are looking at a concept that really helped me expand my fretboard knowledge and how I view the instrument in general. Most of us are taught the blues scale coming up maybe just in the first position or maybe in all five positions. I expand on that scale by not only including the b5th but also using the b3rd to major 3rd in each scale shape. This gives you a more well rounded scope of what is going on interval wise. You wont be so concerned with shapes after learning this. You will just use the sounds that you need to express your ideas. This is the hard work of guitar that is not always fun but it is the most rewarding if done properly. Take it slow and say each interval out loud in each position. Concentrate on identifying the b3rd and major 3rd of each position and then mentally associating the notes around it. Drop your email if you want me to send you the scale charts!
