This video is about an extremmely valauble old coin from Germany. This is German 1623 Coin 10 Ducat Gold Medallic Memmingen, Free City Coin. This coin was struck for the independent city state of Memmingen. It dates from 1623. It’s made of gold and had a value of 10 ducats. It’s exceptionally beautiful. It's shape is round. Weight is 35 gram. Diameter is 42 millimeters. The obverse shows charming city view of Memmingen itself in striking detail. The reverse has a complicated pattern including the coats of arms of three mayors and two city councilors - Ehringer, Haintzel, Koch, Sättelin, and Jenisch. This is surrounded by the 14 heraldic shields of other participant council members. The coin is of a kind known as a Regimenstaler. These were more usually struck in silver. These coins were very likely produced as tokens of the city's allegiance to the Imperial cause following the crushing defeat of Friedrich V at the Battle of White Mountain in 1620. This unique 10 Ducats is the only known specimen from Memmingen to have been made of gold instead. It may perhaps have been specially struck as a gift for a distinguished official. It was graded mint state 62+ by the NGC. It was sold in an auction on March 2021 for $384,000.00 (including the buyer’s premium) #germany #coin #rare #german #gold #mostexpensive #dollar #money #currency
