Hello, learners! In this lesson, we get to master Past perfect continuous tense in English grammar. Past perfect continuous tense is not one of the most used tenses in English, but it is a unique tense and should be learnt. Definition of the past perfect continuous tense The past perfect continuous tense is used to talk about an action that started in the past, continued for some time and then stopped before a particular point (time) in the past. Examples of Past perfect continuous tense ⭕ I had been waiting at the stand for 3 hours before the bus arrived. ⭕ She had been working there since 2015 before she moved to Japan. ⭕ We had been partying like an animal when the raid happened. ⭕ She left her as her manager had been troubling her for months. ⭕ We got really tired last night as we had been dancing since the evening. ⭕ Jacob hadn’t been studying well, so he failed the test.
