WCRC Class 33s on the Welsh Marches Line - Panteg Footbridge - 09/12/23

West Coast's only two mainline certified Class 33 Cromptons, 33207 & 33029, are seen making a rare visit into South Wales, running through Panteg on 'The Chester Christmas Crompton' railtour charter that was heading from Eastleigh to Chester, travelling via Westbury, Severn Tunnel and Hereford. Despite the blustery winds and scatters of rain coming down onto the camera, the Class 33s sounded absolutely magnificent going through the Welsh Marches, with thrashing heard from their engines and horns blaring loudly as they pass under the footbridge. There were only two people on the footbridge to see the Cromptons, but it was worth getting up early to see them. WCRC 47826 was seen on the back of the train.
