Every year during the Nine Emperor Gods Festival (九皇大帝诞), temples across Singapore hold the sacred “Yew Keng” 游境 — a Taoist procession to bless the surroundings and strengthen temple bonds. This takes place on the sixth day of the ninth month (初六). This video takes you to 龙南庙 (Leong Nam Temple), where the temple hosted visiting devotees from 蔡厝港斗母宫 (Tao Bu Keng Temple) as part of the 九皇大二帝游境 — the procession dedicated to the Second Emperor God. Leong Nam Temple came alive with drums, gongs, and the vibrant energy of the visiting entourage. Nine temple mediums representing the Nine Emperor Gods, nine sedan chairs, along with lion and dragon dance troupes, filled the temple grounds in a powerful display of faith and unity. Adding a unique and meaningful touch - an all-women team carried the sedan chair of 斗母娘娘 (Dou Mu Niang Niang), the Mother of the Nine Emperor Gods - a beautiful expression of devotion and inclusivity rarely seen in traditional processions.
