This new song of mine has a very specific meaning to me (how can an electronic song have meaning? Good question). I’m curious to see what it makes you think of though. Comment to share your thoughts! My description will be very vague because it is only an outline. You can fill in the blank spots with detail that’s personal to you. It starts off with a couple of creepy leads. This signifies danger and reminds me of a snake. Something or someone that shows signs of evil but hides it well enough to draw you in. It keeps you long enough and right at the point of no return the saws and bass hit and the entirety of this creature is exposed. At this point in the story, you are no longer able to control yourself and can only give in to “it”. I think of the scene in the movie “9” when the seamstress shows herself to the main characters for the first time. Right at the pinnacle of the pre-chorus the main lead comes in and starts off the chorus. It’s very empty and robotic. It is going through the motions. It is a kind of pathetic pleasure. Then the second verse hits. It’s not melodic and it noisy. Like a squeaking chair. This is what happens after your brain is rewired to bow down to “it”. It can’t function properly anymore and is even more susceptible to it when it comes back. That’s when the second pre-chorus and chorus hit. There is no resolution. Because sometimes “it” controls you forever. Everyone has an “it”.
