Born in Rwanda, Alexis is not just a musician but a devoted family man. Married to Ingabire Carine, he embraces the role of a loving father to four daughters and one son. His journey in the world of gospel music began in 2000 when he took his first steps into the spotlight with the release of his debut single, "Mfite Umukunzi." This soul-stirring track not only showcased his musical prowess but also opened doors for him in the burgeoning gospel music industry in Rwanda. In 2004, Alexis took a significant leap in his career with the release of his debut album, "Mfite Ibyiringiro." Produced by the renowned Rwandan-Canadian-based producer, Aaron Ntitunga, the album resonated with audiences, establishing Alexis as a formidable force in the gospel music landscape. His inaugural concert in 2005, held at the prestigious Centre Culturelle Francais, marked a pivotal moment in his career, solidifying his presence in the hearts of his growing fan base. The success of his debut album allowed Alexis to embark on a tour that transcended borders. From Kenya to Burundi and various locations within Rwanda, including the University of Rwanda in Butare, Alexis's music became a unifying force, touching lives and spreading the message of hope and faith. The recognition and acclaim followed him as he garnered nominations in several prestigious gospel music awards, both nationally and regionally. From the Salax Awards and Groove Awards Rwanda to the Groove Awards in Kenya and even internationally at the Talanta Awards USA, Alexis's impact on the gospel music scene was undeniable. In 2023, Alexis Dusabe extended his influence beyond the stage by founding the East African Gospel Festival. Serving as the CEO, he turned this platform into a powerful vehicle for social change. The festival utilized the transformative power of gospel music to address pressing social issues such as drug abuse, alcohol use, teenage pregnancy, depression, child abuse, street vending, and sex work. With four major events on its calendar and over 8000 attendees, the East African Gospel Festival, within a short span, became a beacon of change. More than 200 souls were won for Jesus, and the festival promised to continue making a positive impact on society through gospel music evangelization.
