End of an Era - Farewell A.R.E! A² 986 to Seymour

Subscribe! ► http://bit.ly/1I3nfz0 On the 30th of April, Steamrail Victoria was chartered by the ARE (Association of Railway Enthusiasts) to haul their final tour from Melbourne to Seymour. The tour, hauled by A² 986, was the 301st and last tour for members and friends of the organisation to farewell 60 years of the ARE. The association was formed in 1961 by like minded fans of the railways and tramways. They organised tours across Australia and also a number of overseas tours. The group produced a magazine as well as digital video productions and also operated the Railfan Shop. For the tour, A² 986 was presented in a scheme it first wore on the 13th of October 1963. This featured a red buffer beam, white buffers and mismatching marker lamps. The locomotive also wore a commemorative headboard donated to the ARE by Steamrail Victoria.
