This patient, a one and half-year-old girl [1.5 years old], had not eaten solid food for the last eight months. They were trying to give her solid food, but she was not able to digest it. She could barely digest some liquids like baby milk, but nothing solid would go inside. From the medical history itself, it was clear that the patient required surgery, So, the surgery that was done was bypassing the pancreas and reuniting the duodenum. Technically it is called duodenoduodenostomy, where we bypass the pancreas without touching it and give a wide passage to the proximal and the distal duodenum. So that whenever the child eats something, it goes into the intestine via that bypass without going inside the pancreas. This patient starts to recover within eight days as she was discharged with satisfactory conditions. Annular pancreas is a congenital anomaly that consists of a ring of pancreatic tissue partially or completely encircling the descending portion of the duodenum. An annular pancreas is something that is a very dangerous disorder. If you touch the pancreas, they start leaking. It is a real nightmare for the surgeon as well as the patients. #annularpancreas #pediatricsurgeons #departmentofpediatricsurgery #motherandchildcare #amandeepmedicity #childrensurgery #amandeephospital #besthospital Amandeep Hospital provides the best paediatric care which is delivered through the expert hands of the paediatricians and paediatric surgery.
