The bloody history from the past Deceased humans now forgotten An age of legends and fear A time now so distant Less numbered as they were their lives So primitive and pagan Superstitions were a part of the life So unprotected in the dark nights Pagan fears The past is alive The past is alive Woeful people with pale faces Staring obsessed at the moon Some memories will never go away And they will forever be here Recorded at The Grieg Memorial Hall 1992-'93. "De Mysteriis Dom. Sathanas" means "Lord Satan's Secret Rites", or at least that's what Euronymous wanted to write. In fact, the phrase isn't written in correct Latin. However, the little dot after "dom", as seen on the original cover, abbreviates "domini", so the title means something like "about/of Lord Satan's mysteries". Also "Mysterii" is not only translatable as mystery, but also as secret worship/ritual/rite. So, when pluralized as it is in the title, "Mysteriis" can indeed translate to Secret Rites, and Euronymous's intention with the title actually turned out very accurately. Front cover is a drawing of the Nidaros cathedral located in Trondheim, Norway. LP released by Deathlike Silence in 1994 is limited to 1000 copies. The first CD pressing DID NOT HAVE a booklet with lyrics, and it DID NOT HAVE a bar code. Just a fold-out cover with pictures of Hellhammer and Euronymous. inside. Coloring of the building on the front is blue. Matrix code : DURECO [01] ANTIMOSH 06. The 2nd pressing of the CD had a booklet with all lyrics. This release also had the proper coloring on the front so the building appears purple, not blue. Different (3rd??) pressing exists as well, still DSP Records, with bar code (SPV84... number) and lyrics, but building again appears in blue. Century Media/Century Black's CD pressing which is by far the most common one available has no lyrics and the building on the front is blue.
