This video is a compilation of video footage filmed by us and Mendip Hunt Sabs during a recent Eggesford cubbing meet at Lower Gorhuish near Northlew. You'll see: Holding-up: Riders and followers surrounding a covert, with huntsman tongue-rolling and followers bashing sticks on fence posts to scare foxes back and prevent them escaping A fox breaking from covert and a sab running in to cover the fox's scent and stop the hounds from chasing, while a rider looks on and refuses to call hounds off the fox Hunting-on: The huntsman hunting hounds onto the fox with his horn and various riders encouraging hounds with hollers and voice commands Marking-to-ground: Hounds 'marking' a fox earth in a hedge where the fox has taken cover and the huntsman blowing the horn call for 'gone to ground', before congratulating hounds for having completed the chase Drawing: Huntsman casting hounds into another covert and tongue-rolling again A second mark, this time at a badger sett 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝘅-𝗵𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴.
