Making a 1908 Edwardian countryside blouse

Hello everyone, I'm Reka. I made a 1908 countryside blouse entirely by hand. I used the Truly Victorian TVE47 pattern. I love hand sewing and I love Edwardian fashion, so making garments inspired by the era is a pure joy. It took me a long time to make this blouse but it was worth the time and effort. I ran into a few difficulties; sewing yokes, collars, and plackets can be tricky. This blouse is very comfortable and it quickly became my new favourite. It was mainly inspired by one of my favourite Avonlea characters, Anne Shirley and the blouses she wore in the 1987 Canadian film production. She was a teacher and I am a teacher as well, so I wanted to have a similar blouse I can wear when I teach. It is nothing fancy but a good start as I am determined to sew a wardrobeful of garments inspired by people from the past - real and fictious. If you feel like joining me in my endeavour, please subscribe. You can also see my video on making the buttonholes of this blouse. Hand sewn buttonholes, of course!
