《생태미술프로젝트》 도시 안 개구리 "도시출몰농부" “멧돼지가 도시에 출몰했다!”. 도시에 존재하면 안될 것 같은 이질적인 존재가 나타났을 때 우리는 ‘출몰’이라는 단어를 쉽게 선택합니다. 도시 안에서 출몰하는 존재들은 비인간 동물들 뿐일까요? 아파트숲 사이에서 토종 작물로 텃밭 농사를 짓고, 도로변 경사진 땅에서 논농사를 하는 도시 농부들은 이 도시의 낯선 출몰자들이 아닐까요? 도시 안 개구리는 전시장에 토종벼가 자라는 작은 멧돼지논을 구현, 수많은 생명체가 기대 살아가는 공유지이자 모두의 서식지인 논의 의미를 생각하게 합니다. 또한, 척박한 땅에서 대를 이어온 토종씨앗들의 이름을 글씨와 목소리로 호명하는 작업을 통해 그들의 존재를 드러내고 씨앗을 이어가는 손들을 기억하고자 합니다. - 제 10회 광주디자인비엔날레 특별전 《생태미술프로젝트》 광주시립미술관 제 1·2 전시실, 로비 2023. 8. 23. ~ 2023. 12. 31. Frogs in the City "Emerging Farmers in the City" “Wild boars appear in the city!” We tend to choose the word ‘appear’ when something foreign that shouldn’t be in the city shows up. Are non-human animals the only things emerging in the city? Aren’t urban farmers, who tend vegetable gardens on tiny patches of land encircled by apartment buildings and cultivate rice on the sloping land along the roadsides, strange people appearing in the city? Frogs in the City created a small rice paddy in the venue, thereby making the viewer think of the significance of a rice field that is not only a common land where numerous creatures live but also a habitat for us all.
