The recently released Rode AI-micro is a tiny interface for connecting mics which use 3.5mm plugs, to any modern Android, iOS or Windows device. It also works with the DJI Action 2 camera. Details are here, including a User Guide and FAQ - https://rode.com/interfaces-and-mixer... - and here is the Rode official video about it - • Features and Specifications of the AI-Micro The AI-Micro is supposed to work with stereo mics using "Plug In Power" but actually, they don't work properly. You only get the left channel. Stereo mics with their own power supply do work. I have tested this on Android, iPhone and the DJI Action 2. That aside (but for me that's a big disappointment) it's a very neat little device which matches the size and appearance of the Action 2 remarkably well. It could be attached with velcro or whatever to the back of the screen module, but it is very light so it doesn't matter if it dangles from the connector. For anyone wanting the best possible audio input and output for the DJI Action 2, this would be hard to beat - but it's not cheap compared to some less well featured alternatives. 0:00 Shot using DJI Action 2 four internal mics 3:25 Shot with Roland in-ear binaural mics connected to Rode AI-Micro 4:01 Shot with audio-technica stereo shotgun mic connected to Rode AI-Micro Feel free to ask questions below. I'll update this if Rode come through with any solution for the stereo mic problem. [Update 1 - The extremely helpful "Patrick" at Rode customer support has come up with a possible solution for the problem of using stereo PiP mics with the AI-Micro. I will be testing his solution and will probably upload another video if it works - watch this channel!]
