Microblading is a semi-permanent tattoo that uses tiny needles arranged into a small scalpel like shape to help deposit pigment into the outer layer of your skin. This technique goes by a few different names like, microstroking, micropigmentation, eyebrow embroidery, eyebrow feathering, and 3D eyebrows – regardless of what you call it, here’s what you need to know. Microblading actually looks like tiny-individual hairs. It’s also used to apply light shading along side the defined “hairs” to give your brow a more dimensional look, as opposed to the more solid look you get with powder brows. Many people have trouble telling the difference between microblading and real hair even when looking up close. The individual hair look is achieved with the special microblading tool, which instead of being a blade is actually a series of micro needles. This microblade is used to carefully make fine cuts, or micro strokes, in the skin where pigment is deposited. Microblading is also semi-permanent, so your brows will always be symmetrical and you won’t have to waste time putting them on every morning. Microblading Versus Permanent Makeup (Tattoo) First, the type of pigment used for microblading has an iron oxide base. Iron oxide is a popular ingredient in cosmetics like foundation, blush, lipstick, and eye shadow because it allows the color to softly fade over time and ultimately vanish, unlike the inks used in permanent cosmetic tattoos that have been known to change color over time. Additionally, microblading pigment is custom mixed to match the exact hair color of each client. Second, microblading doesn’t implant pigment as deeply into the skin as permanent cosmetic procedures. The proper depth for the color to be implanted during the microblading procedure is the upper layer of the dermis – this allows for excellent color retention and fine crisp lines, without the risk of scarring or blurring. What Microblading Can Do for Your Brows Fully reconstruct, define, cover gaps, or fill-in over plucked brows Create natural looking brows for those with zero brows Completely transform blonde ultra-faint brows Recreate brows lost due to alopecia Perfectly fill your arches in Fill out the beginning and tail end of arches that have gotten thinner Microblading is the ultimate way to get natural looking, multi-dimensional, perfectly symmetrical eyebrows that require absolutely zero upkeep in the morning!
