BEST FREE BEACH in Curaçao: Grote Knip

We asked all the locals and they all agreed - the best beach in Curacao is Grote Knip. We went to check it out on a sunny Saturday in mid-January. There are better beaches in Curacao, but the best beaches all require a fee to enter (not much, usually around $5 per person). Only a few beaches are completely free on the island. Of those free ones, this is supposedly the best. Many thanks to Cody and Marisa, my friends who currently live on the island, for driving and taking the time to play. You're great adventure buddies. You'll need a car to get to Grote Knip (Playa Kenepa Grandi in Papiamentu). It's about a 45 minute drive from Willemstad, near Westpunt.
