Salem Townie is my ongoing project to highlight local music from Salem, Oregon and the surrounding area — new bands, old bands, weird bands, legendary bands, and everything in between. This episode includes a special tribute to Timm Knight, a Salem musician whose work and presence meant a lot to people here. If you’ve spent time around Salem music, you’ve probably crossed paths with his name, his bands, or his influence in one way or another. Timm recently passed away, and I wanted to take a moment to honor him the best way I know how: by playing the music and keeping the signal alive. Much love to his family, friends, and everyone in the community who knew him. If you hear something you like, support the artists however you can — share the band, buy their music, show up to a gig, or tell a friend. (Loose timestamps — talking is not included) 00:30 – Not Being There – Timm Knight 04:08 – Space Helmet (feat. Justin Dodge) – Cole Robinson 08:18 – Pride and Envy – MONOPLANE 12:00 – Fuck You – The Hung Kung Product 14:55 – By The Bay – The Old Haunts 17:50 – Local Dads Radio Edit – Brides 22:49 – Doom Bop – Giantess 26:37 – Wearing On My Soul – Symmetry/Symmetry 30:32 – Never Repeat – The Ferenjis 34:14 – Trust – Hot In Pursuit 37:43 – Little Maggie – Mill Race 40:46 – The Weekends – Katy & the Null Sets 44:21 – Kitchen Tile – Typhoon 45:50 – Alan Alda – Nodding Tree Remedies 48:53 – Bridge From East To West Salem – Timm Knight Got something to add? Please jump into the comments. If you know any of these bands or musicians, drop what you know — Bandcamp links, SoundCloud pages, where the song was recorded, who played on it, or whether they’re still doing shows. If you were at a gig, knew the members, or this song hits a memory for you, share that too. This project works best when it’s collective — a place where stories, context, and feelings don’t get lost. Salem has real artistic talent and a real music history, and every comment helps document it, support the people behind the songs, and build confidence in what this town creates. 🔗 Salem Townie: www.salemtownie.com 🎤 Karaoke listings: www.salemkaraoke.com 🎧 Wedding DJ / Oregon Freddy: www.oregonfreddy.com
