The full remake of the second installment in the FATAL FRAME series, originally released in 2003, titled FATAL FRAME II: Crimson Butterfly. This Japanese-style horror adventure game follows twin sisters who become lost in an abandoned village haunted by vengeful spirits. There are also improvements to the core gameplay systems and controls. The signature Camera Obscura mechanic remains central but is set to offer a richer and more engaging experience in both exploration and combat. The director, Makoto Shibata, has mentioned smoother animations, enhanced difficulty, and improved mechanics for the Camera Obscura, including new options for zoom and focus filters. A new feature called "Holding Hands with Mayu" has been added. This mechanic was originally planned for the 2003 version but was cut.
