Funda Friday: Diagnosis and Management of Hepatitis B infection. Dr M Muller

The CMH Family Medicine HIV&TB presentation for February 2024 focused on the NDOH Viral Hepatitis guideline of 2019, highlighting the diagnosis and management of Active Hepatitis B infection, both acute and chronic. This presentation hopes to demystify chronic hepatitis B and identify which patients may warrant screening, treatment and closer follow-up. At the end of the meeting, we discussed the lack of access to HBV DNA testing for patients with chronic Hep B in the public sector. Due to a recording glitch, I had to re-record this lecture, and I have adapted the content to fit better with the resource-restrained limitations. This lecture was broadcast live from the CMH Family Medicine Department on the 23 February 2024 and was presented by Dr Madeleine Muller, Family Physician CMH and Senior Lecturer WSU.
