This time I built photo-recon Crusader with some scratch built features. Manufacturer Sword Model Number SW72149 Date of release New tool 2023 Part count Low Price paid 20€ Decals in the box For two planes Extras Some Academy upper fuselage engine duct parts, Uprise model stencil decals, Airbrush used Badger Xtreme Patriot 105, Fengda FE-183K, Badger 360 High points Nice recessed details, Good quality decals, masks and resin seat out of the box Low points Instructions (but if you are nitpicking: Wrong wheels for this version, no raised wing out of the box, no "smile you are in the canded camera" decal on Cuban crises RF-8...) Timestamps: 0:00 Intro 0:51 Unboxing 1:37 Reference books 2:01 Wings 4:19 Cockpit 5:42 Things inside the fuselage 14:50 Painting 16:21 Decalling 18:33 Weathering 20:56 Some uprgades 24:34 Final reveal rotating 26:06 Final reveal photos 13:26 With other planes 27:57 Conclusions I think the biggest gripe with Sword photo-recon Crusader was that it didn't have option for raised wing. This is because Crusader was the only production aircraft that had this feature and many would build the kit in this configuration. Last time I built Sword RF-8G version out of the box. I have a vacuform conversion for 1/48 RF-8 in my stash and I had plans for raise and fold the wings and open camera bays and ladders in that. This time as we now have out of the box injection molded photo Crusader, although in 1/72 scale, I decided to make those plans reality in this kit. I don't know if this is super detailing but there are also some improvements / upgrades to the cockpit and wheel wells. Music by Lesfm from Pixabay
