Viewlix PC : AMD Ryzen5 5600x, rtx2060 gpu 6g, ddr4, 32g game : mame, demul, teknoparrot build : attractmode lightgun : gun4ir wired, gun4ir wireless note. This is my second test video of the wireless Gun4IR. This time, I set Player 1 to wireless and Player 2 to wired for a comparison test. Since the wireless version doesn’t support raw input, the setup requires more complex calculations. I also tested a few emulators. In particular, the wireless Gun4IR has a bug with DemulShooter, so a certain trick is needed to work around this issue. For the test, Player 1 (wireless) was set to joystick mode, while Player 2 (wired) was tested using raw input. In the case of TeknoParrot, which only allows a fixed single input option, I had to switch my wired Gun4IR to joystick mode to play. In the comparison between wired and wireless, I definitely noticed input lag on the wireless version, but this is only noticeable when holding and using both light guns at the same time. If both had been wireless, I probably wouldn’t have noticed it as much. In my video, during the process of switching games, there were occasional cursor misalignments when the light gun moved out of the IR sensor range, but I think that’s a fairly common occurrence. The wireless Gun4IR is worth trying if you’re curious, but it’s especially tricky to set up in RPCS3 since you need to configure it as a joystick without raw input support. The forked version of RPCS3 for Namco 357 shows that light gun use works well, which proves joystick mode is possible there, but in the official RPCS3 build, PS3 shooting games are difficult to play in joystick mode. Also, I haven’t tested yet, but for 8-bit and 16-bit console games, raw input will also need to be converted to joystick mode for testing, so that will take more time. Wireless is very simple and neat in terms of hardware, but the setup process is quite challenging. However, for emulators like Dolphin or DuckStation/PCSX2, joystick configuration is very easy, so it should be no problem at all. 1p gun4ir wireless(Rawinput) 2p gun4ir wired(Joystick mode) [00:18]Point blank 1(mame) [01:24]Alien3 the gun(mame) [03:48]Ninja Assult(demul) [05:50]Lupin The Third(demul) 1p gun4ir wireless(Joystick mode) 2p gun4ir wired(Joystick mode) [07:44]Transformers Human alliance(TP) [09:20]Target Terror Gold(TP) #Lightgun #wirelesslightgun #gun4ir
