The Barebones was a large area of the town that was nearly all demolished by the late Sixties. It was originally an affluent place that was built for weaving, that had large cellars for looms, but it became a large slum area. Huge tracts of land with hundreds of council houses were built to rehouse the people who lived there. The local singer and documentarian interviews people who lived there and reminisce about their lives and culture of the place. Using digitised photos and photo to video footage from Stuart Sykes (Old Barnsley in Colour) and Carol Megeary the narration is by Ian McMillan and Tony Hulson. The film remembers a time, places and customs long past. The main camera footage was by Jonny Puffballs. Music is by Dave Cherry© MMXXV
