In this video, I have discuss the structure of mature pollen grains, structure of pollen grain class 12. 1)Pollen grain is non motile, haploid, unicellular body with single nucleus. 2)It is surrounded by two layered wall called Sporoderm, 3)The outer layer Exine is thick and made up of complete and non biodegradable substance called Sporopollenin. It made be smooth or with sculptured pattern. It is resistant to chemicals. At some places exine is very thin showing thin ares called as Grem pores.These are meant for the growth of emerging pollen tube during germination of Pollen grains, 4)The inner wall layer, Intine consists of Cellulose and Pectin.
