Lincoln station is one of the bigger transport hubs within the east midlands following closely after Nottingham The station is located at the junction of lines from Sheffield, Sleaford, Nottingham, Gainsborough, Grimsby and Newark All services apart from LNER Services to/from London Kings Cross and Northern Rail services to/from Leeds are operated by East Midlands Railway. LNER services to/from London Kings Cross start and terminate here using Class 800-802 Diesel Electric Multiple Units. Northern services to/from Leeds and Sheffield start and terminate here using a mix of Class 150, 158 and Class 195 Diesel Multiple Units. At the most recent time of filming all (2023) local East Midland Railways services here are operated by a mix of Class 156/158 and Class 170 DMU's. Long distance services to London St Pancras also operate to/from here during peak times these being operated with Class 222 DMU's,
