This video was produced when the laboratory operated as the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). The laboratory is now the National Laboratory of the Rockies (NLR). This seminar will provide an overview of the HelioCon components and controls (C&C) task. Dr. Ken Armijo will review key gap areas within heliostat subcomponent design to assess both performance and reliability challenges for heliostats. This research assesses current codes and standards, along with current test beds that could support functionality assessments across five key areas: a) Conceptual Design, b) Individual Component Development, c) Heliostat Integration, d) Mass Production, and e) the Deployed Field.
