Arjun, a truck driver from Kerala, tragically died in a landslide that occurred in Ankola, Karnataka. The landslide happened in the Western Ghats region, which is prone to landslides, particularly during heavy monsoon rains. Arjun's truck was caught in the landslide while he was navigating the hilly terrain. The sudden collapse of soil and rocks buried his vehicle, leading to his untimely death. Landslides are common in this region due to the combination of heavy rainfall and the area's geological structure. Rescue efforts in such incidents are often difficult due to the challenging terrain and the volume of debris involved. Much efforts had been taken by Navy, Army and the district administration to recover the vehicle and the body of Arjun. Eshwar Malpe, a person who saved many lives during the floods also tried his best. Finally, after 73 days of constant search, the truck was found under the debris of the landslide inside the river. When the truck was lifted, a toy that Arjun bought for his son, was found inside the cabin.
