The talk presented during the ICFO seminar: "Methodological and ethical contents in the curricula of Ph.D. studies". Abstract: Technoscience is a result of integration of technology with empirical sciences, including not only physical sciences, but also life sciences, social sciences and cognitive sciences. The development of technoscience is today unthinkable without formation of new researchers being aware of this inter- and transdisciplinary nature of technoscience and its social context. The enhancement of non-technical contents in the curricula of Ph.D. studies seems to be a challenging task which should be undertaken by the institutes of technology aspiring to the status of research universities. The priority should be given to elements of philosophy of science and research ethics. A recently published handbook Technoscientific Research: Methodological and Ethical Aspects (Walter de Gruyter, Berlin–Boston 2019) may be a good starting point for discussing this issue.
