Believe it or not, the Hummer EV was the first vehicle to use GM’s Ultium EV architecture, which basically is a modular propulsion system, consisting of electric motors and battery packs, that can be applied to many different vehicles, from compact SUVs to big trucks like the Hummer EV. Now, the platform on which the Hummer is based on, is called BT1 platform, and it’s a mix of unibody and “body on battery” solution. It was designed with large SUVs and trucks in mind, and underpins vehicles as the Chevy Silverado EV, GMC Sierra EV, or the Cadillac Escalade IQ. Despite being built on a 400-volt architecture, the Hummer EV, just like other Ultium vehicles, is capable of 800-volt fast charging. There are no changes to the 2025 model. Other electric pickup trucks include the Rivian R1T, Ford F150 Lighting, Tesla Cybertruck, or the Chevy Silverado EV Powertrain: 3 Electric motor | 1,000 hp | 11,000 lb-ft of torque | AWD Battery: 205 kWh Lithium Ion Battery | 381 miles of range MSRP as tested: $117,605 #hummer #hummerev #cars Follow me on Instagram @tom.swiatek If you like watching car videos, be sure to check out savagegeese, Doug DeMuro, Winding Road Magazine, TheTopher, TheStraightPipes, carwow.
