You *can cleanse yourself of the frenzied flame to get other game endings, but it requires progressing a long side quest and defeating Malenia. The only benefit from inheriting the Frenzied Flame is that we can summon the NPC Shabriri to fight Godfrey/Horah Loux, the last main story boss before the final boss. If you've followed my videos, we can also summon Nepheli Loux, which main be sufficient for following my strategy on that boss. It's up to you. Horah Loux does a lot of devastating grab attacks, so having your mimic plus 2 NPCs in the fight makes it much less likely he'll go after you in any given moment. Second pipe: No wrong turns possible, just watch out the for the Basilisks. Third pipe: Start in the direction you were going in when you jumped down, straight, jump, get ready for giant rat, drop down (but beware guy trying to backstab you), then turn around and go down the pipe sloping down.
