“The Song of Disobedience” is a Persian song / anthem by Adib Ghorbani, an Iranian pianist, composer, and filmmaker. It was published on April 20th, 2024, on his YouTube channel. It is performed by an anonymous group of Iranian music students. Ghorbani uses the names of some of the victims of the “Women, Life, Freedom” movement in Iran to show the continuity of the memory and movement. He also brings elements of Iran’s history and mythology that are examples of courage in facing tyranny. During the “Women, Life, Freedom” movement, Adib Ghorbani’s songs, like “The Way to the Street”, were sung as anthems by countless Iranian protesters worldwide.
