Ski Technique: Skiing In The Land Of Ing

This is the story of skiing in the 'Land Of Ing'. Like most kids, when I was young I loved skiing, absolutely adored it. But like many adult skIers, I lost my way. I became obsessed with skiing correctly. I became self conscious, frozen, I skied like a robot trying to ski correctly. My enjoyment all but disappeared. Then it happened, one comment from someone, that change my whole skiing career from that moment on. Since that day, I've loved every run, every day, every moment I have skis on. I get as much if not more fun out of skiing than I ever did before. There are many skiers out there that have the same experience that I had. Frustration, self consciousness, good days and bad days, struggling to improve. But if you can find you way to 'Ing' like I did, you will find enjoyment in your skiing every turn, every run, every day, no matter what the weather, what the terrain, what the situation, whoever the instructor, whatever the race course. Improvement appears to happen every time you go skiing without even trying. This is what we call 'Skiing In The Land Of Ing'. It's a personal journey, enjoy.
