Talia Cotton Creative Coding Series 2023 - 2024 | Master Media Design

Creative Coding series is a collection of conversations with creative technologists, creative coders, artists, designers and MA Media Design first-year students. We discuss creative coding processes, using the computer as a creative medium and diving into experimental approaches for interaction design. The 2023 - 20234 webinar series addressed various topics such as how to use creative coding to create visual identities with unique aesthetics, movements and body tracking to create new type of experiences and how to use our computers to visualise societal issues. Our guests for the 2023- 2024 edition are: Chelsi Cocking, Talia Cotton, and Fletcher Bac They are internationally renowned artists, designers, researchers in the field of interaction design. This series of talks is part of our Creative Coding workshop that is taught in the autumn semester in the Masters Media Design programme at HEAD – Genève. This year the workshop was led by Damien Baïs and Nicolas Baldran. The series of talks is curated by Alexia Mathieu, head of MA Media design program. Talia Cotton Talia Cotton is a designer, coder, and educator, and is recognized as a leading specialist in the intersection of design and technology. In 2023 she founded Cotton, a creative agency pursuing purposeful design work with code. Talia also teaches intro and advanced coding at Parsons School of Design. Before Cotton, Talia led datadriven and algorithmic design on two teams at Pentagram, while running an independent design and code practice. Her clients include Google Arts & Culture, the New York Times, the Gates Foundation, and MIT. Talia was named a "Responsible Designer to Watch" by GDUSA and was awarded the Young Guns Award for creative professionals under 30. She has been recognized by The One Club, TDC, Fast Company, and It's Nice That, and has inspired audiences at the international Google Visual Design Summit, OFFF Tel Aviv, and Future London Academy, among others.
