Happy 26th Free the Bears, some sad news today!

Happy news & sad news...today March 23rd is Free the Bears 26th anniversary! Hip Hip Hooray! Thank you so much to everyone around the world for allowing us to get this far (& to rescue almost 1,000 endangered bears). In the absence of a 26th birthday video (sorry, no time), please enjoy this video from our 25th anniversary where you'll briefly meet many of the bears currently in our care:    • Free the Bears TURNS 25   Sad news...the old & sick moon bear we rescued last week (caged for over 20 years) has passed away peacefully while asleep. Our expert bear care & vet team in Vietnam provided him the best care possible in his final days. We're all very saddened by the loss. But we know that even a few days in our care was a better outcome than him spending another minute in the previous conditions. We were able to remove him from a place of suffering and provide him a quiet space with room to move, treats that bears love (which he'd never experienced), as well as some dignity & relief from suffering in his final days.
