SRO Motorsports Group's 30th GT anniversary was celebrated with a colorful and noisy mix of GT1, GT2 and GT3 cars on the legendary race track of Spa Francorchamps (Belgium), organized by Peter Auto. The entire field included iconic race cars from 1999 to 2013 with the likes of the Chrysler Viper GTS-R, Maserati MC12 GT1, Aston Martin DBR9, Lamborghini Murcielago R-SV, Ferrari F430 GTC, a variety of Porsche models, and several of the GT3 machines that have helped with the success of the class. Connoisseurs will notice several winners of the 24 Hous of Spa in the field: The legendary Chrysler Viper GTS-R, two-time winner, with Belgian Christophe Van Riet at the wheel of this big American machine. The Porsche 996 GT3-RS in the second-tier N-GT category took advantage of heavy rain in 2003 to take an impressive overall victory. With three victories in four starts between 2005 and 2008, the Maserati MC12 GT1 established itself as one of the event's most legendary machines. In 2006, the Maserati won after a fierce duel with an Aston Martin DBR9. The DBR9 marks Aston's return to competition and is a symbol of the GT1 era with with quite a few examples on track at Spa-Francorchamps. Moreover, a Ferrari F430 GTC is on the race track, which took victory in the second-tier GT2 class in 2006. The Lamborghini Murcielago R-SV GT1 didn't have much success at Spa, but the car's curves and drama certainly left their mark. The first generation of GT3 machinery is also on the track, including the Chevrolet Corvette C6 Z06R and the highly successful Audi R8 LMS Ultra. GT3 cars like the Lamborghini Gallardo GT3, an Aston Martin Vantage GT3 and a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 complete this awesome mix of legendary GT1, GT2 and GT3 cars. #gt1 #gt2 #gt3
