Mums and babies aviary check time: checking baby bellies

Merryn checks the size of the bellies of the babies on their mothers in the aviary. When the mums have their babies in care, if they're not able to be released in under a week, they have to hang around till the babies are old enough to fly independently, then they can be released together. The babies are checked daily to make sure their bellies have milk in them, that they are getting enough nutrition and their mums are making enough milk for them.
