A question was asked about how much or how often I water my dragon fruit plants. There are no hard rules on water. However, here are some guidelines that I followed. 1. What kind of plants are you growing? Know your plants. 2. What climate zone are you living in? Dry, desert, tropics, 4 seasons, etc.. 3. What is the current weather condition? Are you in the Winter, Summer?? If you're in the Winter season, chances are you don't need to water your plant daily. 4. Check the moisture level in the soil. This is probably the most fundamental. Reach down and touch the soil. Dig down several inches to feel the soil. If it moist and wet, don't water. 5. Do you have good drainage? Poor drainage will drown your plant even though the top layer of soil might appear dry. 6. Where do you grow your plant? In containers or in the ground. In general, containers tend to dry out much faster. 7. What type of soil do you have? Sandy, heavy clay, etc... Finally, observe your plants. Does your plant look health, green, yellowish, or brown. If the leaves are brown, most likely it's time to water. So those are my personal guidelines when it comes to watering. The fact that I know doesn't mean all my plants are perfect. Sometimes, human forgetfulness and negligence are part of the problem.
