On 12 May 1969, ITN's Jacky Gillott reported on Cannes Film Festival, and the phenomenon of what Gillott called the "Bikini Brigade". In recent years, the film festival had become associated with scantilly-clad models as much as filmmaking, and Gillott spoke to one British director who believed the event was losing its artistic spirit.
