The journey from Upper Pisang to Ngawal via Ghyaru on the Annapurna Circuit is one of the most scenic and rewarding sections of the trek. Starting at around 3,300 meters, the trail climbs steeply toward the beautiful hillside village of Ghyaru at 3,700 meters — the toughest but most breathtaking part of the day. As you gain elevation, panoramic views of Annapurna II, Annapurna III and Annapurna IV. After reaching Ghyaru, the path becomes more gradual, traversing high ridgelines decorated with prayer flags and ancient mani walls before descending slightly to the peaceful village of Ngawal at 3,660 meters. This high route is more challenging than the lower trail, but it offers incredible mountain scenery and helps with proper acclimatization as you continue toward Manang. Annapurna II Annapurna II is one of the major peaks of the Annapurna mountain range in Nepal, standing at 7,937 meters (26,040 ft). It is the second-highest mountain in the Annapurna massif, after Annapurna I, and is known for its massive north face and dramatic glacial slopes. The mountain is especially visible and impressive from the Annapurna Circuit Trek, particularly between Pisang and Manang. From Upper Pisang and the high route via Ghyaru and Ngawal, trekkers get some of the best panoramic views of Annapurna II. Nature Nature is the foundation of life.
